Are you interested in joining PGSAR? New member intake usually occurs in September. Interviews for September 2017 recruits have already taken place. If you are interested in applying for subsequent years, you are encouraged to introduce yourself to our Personnel Coordinator as soon as possible, in order to receive updates on recruitment news during the year.
Transferring to Prince George Search and Rescue
Prince George Search and Rescue welcomes members new to Prince George, that have previously qualified with other Search and Rescue groups in British Columbia. Please contact the Personnel Coordinator with your information and credentials.
A high level of commitment and responsibility is expected of new recruits.
Attend all training
The 100 hour Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) training program for new recruits takes place every Wednesday from September through May. There is also at least one hands-on weekend training session each month.
Upon completion of training, members must contribute a minimum of 50 hours per year for training and searches, to remain active. As well as training and searches, members are expected to contribute time to the general operations of PGSAR.
